We chose to buy a live tree this year. It’s a Norfolk Pine and is about 3 feet tall. It’s cute and simple, like us.

For ornaments, we hung that were light and small. On top of the tree, there are two doves from our wedding cake, a crocheted angel from the first Christmas party in Staunton, and the Moravian star. Also, one Moravian candle is sitting in the window.  We also hung silver garland to give it some pizazz.

The cat, Diana, came and said, “Lo, behold the Messiah has come!”
That’s our new Nativity set. Yes, even the Nutcracker came to see the baby Jesus.

Tonight, we had a Candlelight Christmas service. In his sermon, Rob read the text from John 1:1-14. He talked about his experiences growing up as a Moravian and the church’s traditions with light. Two symbols that represent the light of Christ are the Moravian candle and the Moravian star. With these symbols, they help us to remember to keep that light shining in the darkness of the world.

Merry Christmas!

P.S. This star is hanging in the sanctuary. Will post beautiful pictures of the sanctuary and the church later.
